The AF-PA board has wide ranging experience within the Asset Finance and Leasing industry. Each director holds an area of specific responsibility designed to deliver key benefits to our members. The board are also tasked with ensuring the highest level of standards within AF-PA, at all times.

Stephen Bassett - Chairperson

One of AF-PA’s original founders, Stephen Bassett, has undertaken the role as our Chairperson for a second time, bringing with him long market experience and many key relationships, which can only help to enhance our growing profile as a leading charitable fund raiser and networking body in our sector.

Stephen brings additional energy and drive to the AF-PA team in supporting local community good causes and through its expanding activities. He believes that everyone involved with the Asset Finance and Leasing community should be really proud of AF-PA’s efforts to date and want to join in the drive to raise funds for further deserving charities.

Stephen feels that what AF-PA is achieving can only enhance the image of our sector and help attract talented new people seeking to make their careers in what is a thriving and active market.

“The organisation is ‘not for profit’ and has a great craic raising money for others, why would anyone not want to become a member and support the events?” he asks.


Steve Dexter - Event Management

As director of Clear Asset Finance Ltd, Steve has led this growing company through three successful but challenging years, after over 20 years’ experience in the leasing industry. This allows him to enjoy all aspects of the asset finance sector, with a focus on sales. As an ex-Marine, he enjoys physical hobbies, and is a former England international Karate practitioner. He also enjoys spending time with his wife of 35 years and was a founding member of the AF-PA, enjoying the chance to keep in contact with colleagues and friends, meet new ones - and raise money for charity at the same time.


Robert Eggleston BSc LLB - Company Secretary

Robert enjoyed a successful career in credit and risk before leaving the industry to study law, successfully completing his LPC in 2010 and qualifying as a solicitor in 2012. He now combines these skills in his current role as Head of Credit and Legal at Maxxia Limited as well as providing commercial consultancy services to a number of commercial clients. As a member of the Leasing Foundation and with another professional role as Company Secretary of a software group, his free time is limited, but he makes time to support several other charities, including Burgess Hill Town Fairtrade, where he is the Chair, and Snowdrop Music, which promotes performance arts events to raise money for charity.


Johnnie Halliday - Past Chairperson

Johnnie is Director of Sales at Linedata Lending and Leasing in London. In a career spanning over 30 years his roles have evolved from equipment sales into asset finance and outsourcing services to financial management systems. Starting at Pitney Bowes and their finance captive he progressed into vendor leasing at OKO Finance and subsequently transferred to their Lease Portfolio Management division. For the last 18 years he has consulted on and sold software solutions to all elements of the finance supply chain in the UK and internationally, initially as a board director at CQ Systems (now NetSol) and latterly with Field Solutions (now Cassiopae). His outside interests include time with family in Somerset and two grown up sons in London, playing tennis and occasional golf, a passion for countryside matters and raising money for the local charity branch of Macmillan Cancer Support.


Vince O'Hanlon - Sponsorship

Vince is the CEO at VitrX Limited and has a wealth of knowledge to the business having worked in the Lombard/RBS Group for 24 years and possesses a true passion for gadgets and technology. Vince’s expertise in creating successful IT Service initiatives for large corporates positions VitrX as the market leader for knowledge and trust. Customer centric Vince still makes time to relax with his wife and two children plus enjoys motorsports and cars.


Vicky Loughnan - Northern Events/AF-PA Lite

Vicky is a Chartered Legal Executive with over 13 years’ experience in the asset finance industry. Vicky is an Associate in the Asset Finance team at Shoosmiths where she provides advice to the finance industry, with a particular emphasis on asset and motor finance and is well known within the Finance and Leasing Association and other trade bodies. In her spare time, Vicky enjoys watching football and rugby.


Peter McDonnell - Membership

Peter is CEO of Cordoba Group Limited, which include Cordoba Rewards, a leading provider of channel partner incentive and loyalty programmes to the Asset Finance industry. Peter uses his extensive experience in the leasing industry, including a stint as Sales Direct for GE Capital, to manage the performance of three companies with the Cordoba Group. His experience is no less valuable when it comes to his role as Managing Director and as a Director of AF-PA, which he combines his passions for fundraising and networking with like-minded professionals from the asset finance industry. In his rare but precious free time, he enjoys spending time with his daughters, and you can often find him on the golf course or at The Emirates, making use of his Arsenal season ticket.


David Marsh – Social Media

A principle sales and strategy consultant who helps businesses to create, shape and deliver their growth ambitions. The experience he built in former roles at BT as Head of New Business Sales and New Proposition Introduction, GE Capital as Head of Leasing Programmes, Sovereign Leasing and Canon also contribute to the creation and delivery of new business opportunities. AF-PA gives David the opportunity to follow his quest in helping help charitable causes and using the power of social media. Running from 5K to ultra-marathons is more than just a hobby, with David holding roles as UK Ambassador for the South African Comrades Ultra and as the lead for the online Running Discussion Board.


Rob Morris-Jones - Finance Director

Rob is the Global CFO for 2 of the DLL (“De Lage Landen”) Group business lines, Office Technology & Healthcare and Clean Technology. He has spent over 30 years gaining knowledge and experience of the Vendor Finance and leasing businesses with Highland Leasing, Barclays Mercantile, Anglo Leasing and since 1996 DLL.  Rob’s role with AF-PA gives him the opportunity to help charitable causes.
